My town, my beach...
the old lighthouse...
i went up to the top of the new lighthouse after being inside it listening to three witches chant their magic...it was beautiful...the sound in the lighthouse is soooo mysterious..eccoing a lot....i want to put up lots of beautiful gigs in there! for me going to listen to the witches make their magic was like going to the church....i could actually see the energy-vibes in there...goosebumps all over....

too many things.....
i get dizzy thinking about all the things going on in my life...and sometimes i discover i've totally forgotten about one or two things....like now i just had forgotten for a few days that next week i'm starting the teenage philosophy teaching and the teacher training distance learning thing...i've met both of my potential phd supervisors, both very very nice people...i just wrote a draft for a proposal...doing my phd on aesthetics and phenomenology in icelandic nature and in icelandic people's experiences of nature...i've almost finished my dissertation which is going to have to be my rules of conduct for the next years...if i'm going to be an active environmental philosopher i better follow my own instructions.... i also met another university guy who is supervising and organising a module on environmental ethics last week...and it turns out i'm going to be teaching quite a bit in the uni...i'm teaching four lectures and supervising two student presentation seminars...i'll do two basic lectures on Kantian ethics and on anthropocentric views, and then two more interesting ones one aesthetics and on criticisms of cost-benefit analysis....i'm also going to be teaching one lecture in the (hahahah) agricultural university! i'm going to educate future farmers about the philosophy of landuse.....funny....i really can't get my head around all these exciting things i'm going to do this winter and hopefully for the next few years...it is just too amazing....weird weird weird...
i'm also just so amazed and happy about my place in the world...i live inside a natural pearl of beauty...yesterday was a small town festival at the beach in my lovely little town...i've been very sentimental over all the beautiful places that are two minutes away from me everywhere i am....i'm lucky... and therefore i have to fight to protect this beauty....lots of people...mostly british people... have been doing serious protesting up in the east where the dam is being built...climbing up cranes and stopping people from doing work up there....and of course they are being treated like shit by the police....i'll tell you more about that whole situation next time....

monday morning surrealia...
today i'm back to work..slowly, slowly...i've had a brilliant first week home...the first night back in town was poetry night..group of nice people coming together to share their own and other poets works, candle-lights and redwine... i decided to share with the group poems by mr. kurt cobain and leonard cohen...their words and beautiful music and my voice and very bad guitarplaying...it was nice...i need to get used to singing in front of people on my own...its fun... the weekend was wonderfully icelandic...on friday night i went to reykjavik to parti for the last time with my friends who are going to america to study...after drinking a bit of vodka we went to a tiny little crowded bar called 11 and danced to crazy old rockabilly music until we couldn't stand anymore...5 o'clock in the mornin' whatz you gonna do.... i couldn't believe my own feet...fu*k modern teckno and dance music, the rockabilly music makers knew what they were doing....their dancing power is amazing! nothing today can make you dance so much! i woke up after only a few hours sleep and drove with my sister to our summerhouse to have a nice relaxing day with our parents....mmmm....the best tasting water in the world from our river, the wind rocking me to sleep in the moss....after revitalising i drove back to keflavik and went to another goodbye parti....another friend going to study in denmark....everyone coming home or going away...but now its monday and back to work...i'm going to try to finish my dissertation this week...too many other exciting things going on...i met my potential supervisors for my potential Phd on friday....everything looks very good and amazingly exciting! i don't know what i have done to deserve this....weiiiird....its good to be home, but i also miss lancaster....my stomach has been weird..it misses single step i think...and my wallet misses it also...one liter of soyamilk: almost 3 pounds!! i'll have to start a co-op soon as possible...well, gotta go....sampai nanta...

nýr raunveruleiki...new reality...
Life is funny....and veryvery weird...but i like it....almost a year ago, i walked for the first time into a new reality called lancaster...it became my home where i had family, friends and an everyday life full of little and big happenings..a reality...my reality....but now i'm back in another new reality which is my old reality in iceland...what am i trying to say?...hmmm....basically that people can have many realities and many homes...and that's kind of weird but nice...and since this internet reality called my blog was originally meant for communicating with friends and family when i was away from home, i'm thinking that should be continued....and since i am now in my home called iceland, but away from my home called lancaster, the blog is now for communicating with friends and family there....so that's the reason why i'm writing in english...in case my lovely icelanic friends are wondering if i've gone mad...aaaaanyway!
it felt sooo weird to say goodbye to everyone...even if i know that i'll be back soon...the witches tried to make me stay right until the end... (o shit my mother just said something to me right now and i answered her: really?...annoying....in the last days in lancaster i was putting icelandic words in between the english ones, now i'm doing it the other way around...men o men..haha) jebb...at the airport, the bottle of witch cider fell on the pavement..but it didn't brake..it only became open...sooo... i of course had to drink it before going on the plane...tipsy at the airport is funny...the witches obviously trying to get me to stay for the cider...or trying to get me drunk so i would miss the flight! then they tried again by delaying my flight for two hours...but nothing worked and i'm back in iceland...had a lovely day yesterday....went for a walk with my mum on our lovely beach...cycled around town to my friends houses....smiled a lot....lay in the green grass....run in it....this morning i woke up and went swimming...mmmm......i was the only one there as ususal....a whole big outdoors swimming pool, hut tub and sauna...all to myself....loooovely!!! welll....i gotta go now...check out the sunshine....sampai nanta my friends...over&out...
